Now What?
Now that you’ve completed the 5 minute installation of WordPress without any stress, you can now take advantage of all the amazing features in store for you. But…where do you begin?
Lets start from the top
1) Begin by logging into the Administration Panel (the brain behind your website) the place where you can let your creativity take over, writing brilliant material and designing the best and most attractive website imaginable.
2) From the Administration Panel at the top of the screen menu choose View Site. Ask yourself if you like it? Or you don't like it? This is where you are going to be spending a lot of time over the next few minutes, hours, weeks, months, so pick something you can work with.
Now Test Drive Your WordPress Site
Wordpress.org recommends, taking “time to look at the site before you get into the changing of things and figuring out how it works, it's important to see how the default WordPress Theme is laid out and works. Consider this the test drive before you start adding on all the special features.” (2010).
WordPress default theme is Kubrick. The layout you will be looking at is called the theme or the presentation of your website. The theme will feature a blue header and along side is the sidebar. In the middle section of the page is the “post” and at the bottom is the “footer”.
The sidebar for starters has a list of options: Pages, Categories, Archives, Calendar, and Dates. This is an important part of the panel because users will use this to move around the site.
